Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has officially flagged off the construction of a rural roads project at Yauri Highway – Hundeji town in Shanga Local Government Area. He also announced the revocation and impending re-construction of the Koko/Dabai road following its documentation.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Governor Idris emphasized that this project marks a significant milestone in fulfilling his campaign promises. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to undertaking more people-oriented projects to improve the well-being of the state’s populace.
The governor also announced plans to begin the free distribution of fertilizer to farmers on Tuesday, aimed at boosting food production in the state.
Idris Adamu, the State Coordinator of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), stated that the 6.55-kilometer road is expected to be completed within one year, but expressed hope that the contractor would finish the work in eight months.
Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Shehu Muazu, praised the governor for his efforts in providing infrastructural development across the state.
The Emir of Yauri, Muhammadu Zayyanu, thanked Governor Idris for his developmental initiatives in his emirate and appealed for the extension of road projects to neighboring communities in the area.
